The newly inaugurated governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission says it will work as a team in the discharge of its statutory functions.
Chairman of the board, Dr Tarilah Tebepah gave the assurance during the inaugural meeting of the board at the Commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.
He said being a member of the board goes with enormous responsibilities, but added, “I have no doubt in my mind that putting our wealth of experience together, we will achieve a lot ‘
Dr Tebepah noted that a lot of adverse comments have been made concerning the NDDC in recent times but observed that , “ that does not mean the NDDC is bad or has not achieved anything, but simple matters were allowed to go out of control, thereby portraying the Commission in bad light.”
Assuring the commitment of the new board, Dr Tebepah said “this new NDDC will deliver, this is a transformational NDDC, we will work hard to meet the expectations of the people”
In his speech, Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr Christian Oboh said the management committee was prepared to implement policies and programmes of the board.
