The Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Christy Atako, has called on management and staff to make the vision of the NDDC their driving force by showing more dedication, discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Addressing management and staff at a maiden general meeting after a powerful spiritual exhortation, Dr. Atako told the audience that God has trusted on them the task of developing the Niger Delta region.
She, therefore, called on staff to be determined more than ever before in carrying out that responsibility. “The purpose of setting up the NDDC is to raise the standard of infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region. Though this mission is a tall order, it is a task that can be achieved if we make the mission and vision of the NDDC our driving force,” the Acting MD said.
Dr. Atako urged staff to be punctual, avoid absenteeism and to be properly dressed to work. She also called on staff to be above board in dealing with contractors and shun any form of corrupt practices.
The acting MD/CEO promised to attend to staff welfare promptly.
Speaking earlier, the Director, Administration, Dr. Henrietta Ogan, who presented the Acting MD/CEO to the management and staff of the commission said that, the fact that Federal Government has appointed one of the NDDC seasoned director as the Acting Managing Director shows that the Federal Government has confidence on NDDC management and staff to deliver the Commission’s mandate.
