Patterson Lieme Ogon, PhD, Director, Planning, Research, Statistics & Management Information Systems, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is a distinguished scholar, social change advocate, and leader in various capacities. He holds a Doctorate degree in Political Theory and Methodology from the University of Port Harcourt. 

He was a Visiting Scholar and Luce Foundation Green Governance Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, USA in 2005/2006. He co-founded the Ijaw Council for Human Rights (ICHR) in 1998, a policy advocacy NGO and led the human rights wing of the Ijaw Youths Council in the heat of the Niger Delta agitation for self-determination and resource control.

Dr Ogon has held different managerial positions including Director, Government to Citizens, in the Due Process & e-Governance Bureau, Bayelsa State; Executive Assistant to Bayelsa State Governor on Policy and Governance Strategy (2022-2024).

He is a Member, Board of Trustee, University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association (2025 – Date). He is also the Vice President, Class of U86, University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association (2022 – Date). His professional affiliations include, Fellow, Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria, Chartered (FSM); Fellow, Mentoring and Career Development Institute of Nigeria (fmcdi); Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, (NIPR) etc.

He is a recipient of several awards including the Award of Excellence in Corporate Administration, Institute of Niger Delta Studies, University of Port Harcourt (2025); Epie/Atissa Life Time Achievement Award (2024); “Defender of the Environment Award” Environment Outreach Magazine (2012); “Human Rights Protection” Civil Liberty Organization (CLO) July 2009; “Award of Life Membership” by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), (2007).

He is currently the President, Rotary Club of Port Harcourt GRA. He loves Football, travelling, Swimming. He plays Table Tennis and Scrabble etc
