Nwaeke Mary Efekhoba has been serving as the Acting Director of the  Liaison Office of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Abuja since November 2023. Prior to her promotion and transfer to the Abuja office, she held the position of Deputy Director in the Corporate Affairs Department at the Commission's headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In 2019, she also worked as a Special Assistant on Protocol and General Duties to the then Acting Managing Director/CEO of NDDC, Dr. Akwagaga Enyia. 

With 28 years of experience in public service, Nwaeke has played a key role in the organized private sector of the Nigerian economy. Her skills and expertise include strategic communications, general administration, and management advisory services, particularly in the areas of protocol, public relations, image and brand management.

Born on December 13, 1974, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nwaeke attended Edaiken Primary School in Uselu, Benin City, Edo State, where she completed her First School Leaving Certificate in 1986. She then proceeded to Iyoba College, also in Benin City, for her Senior School Certificate Examination in 1992. She earned an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, in 1996. Her academic journey continued at the University of Benin, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mass Communication and Theatre Arts, respectively.

Nwaeke enjoys reading, writing, and traveling. She is a devoted Christian with a strong passion for godliness.

She is happily married to Mr Nkem Nwaeke, and they are blessed with children.
