Engr. Albert Ehimhen Eigbe, PhD

Engr. Dr Albert Ehimhen Eigbe is a distinguished Electrical Power Systems Engineer, Administrator, and Development Expert. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from the University of Benin, a Master of Science (MSc) in Project Management from the University of Liverpool, a Master of Technology (MTech) in Electrical Engineering (Power Option), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Power Systems from Rivers State University.

He commenced his engineering career with the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), where he served as a Project Engineer from 1996 to 2002. In 2003, he joined the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as a manager and, through progressive career growth, rose to the rank of Director in January 2023. In this capacity, he has provided leadership in planning, supervising, and executing key infrastructure projects across the Niger Delta region, including rural electrification, solar mini-grids, potable water supply schemes, shoreline protection, and broader utility infrastructure development, contributing significantly to sustainable community impact.

He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), a Fellow of the Mentoring & Career Development Institute of Nigeria (FMCDI), and a COREN-registered engineer. He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), the Nigerian Institution of Highways and Transportation Engineers (NIHTE), and the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA).

An ardent scholar, Engr. Dr Eigbe has authored and presented technical papers at both local and international fora, with research interests spanning voltage stability, grid reliability, renewable energy integration, and rural electrification. His notable works include: Voltage Instability Prediction in the Nigerian 330kV Power Network Using Arithmetic Moving Average technique; Application of Voltage Stability Indices for Grid Reliability Assessment; Decentralisation Strategies for Enhancing Power System Stability in Nigeria; Renewable Energy and Mini-Grid Solutions for Rural Electrification in the Niger Delta; and Water, Gender, and Resilience: Reimagining Inclusive Water Security for the Niger Delta.

He is deeply committed to professional ethics, engineering excellence, leadership, and public service. He is passionate about mentoring young professionals, advancing community development, and promoting engineering advocacy. Outside his professional engagements, he is happily married with children and enjoys swimming, walking, playing golf, and listening to gospel music.
